Calder was riding an intense powerful wave and loving every second of it. He didn’t know why but it was like the water almost bent to his will giving him the best swells. Suddenly some tourist cut him off on the wave. To avoid a full on injury he let himself fall into the water letting it flow over him as he made his way back to shore.
Calder shook the salt water from his hair as he stepped onto the wet sand of the beach with his surf board. He glared at the guy that had just cut him off on the wave as he got onto the beach. The guy had such a big dumb grin it mad Calder so angry. He stomped over to loser and as the man turned Calder punched him as hard as he could in the face knocking him to the ground.
He angrily stalked off toward home. He knew his temper was a major issue but right now he didn’t give a crap. His anger issue’s had been one of the reason’s his on again off again girlfriend would break up with him. Though he never raised a hand to her they just argued but she hated when he lost control like that but that didn’t matter anymore. She was off to some fancy exclusive college and he was staying here surfing his waves and living free.
He got home and put up his board. He needed a shower, get all the salt and sand off before he started itching. He changed into a pair of shorts and had grabbed a t-shirt when there was a knock on the door. His parents were out of town and he wasn’t expecting anyone. He dropped his shirt and answered the door.
All he found was an envelope with his name on it. He picked it up, inspecting it. It looked like one on those fancy acceptance letters that Sofia had gotten even before graduating high school. He figured it was sent by mistake, he hadn’t sent out any applications and even if he had, he had just barely passed high school, what would a college want with him? He opened it up and began to read. The letters began to glow and suddenly his mind was filled with images and thoughts from the last millennia. He dropped the letter and looked up feeling incredibly pleased.
He wasn’t some loser kid just out of high school. He was Poseidon. The god of oceans, hurricane’s and so much more. He grinned happily. Well it looked like he was off to college it would seem. He thought about Sofia for a moment, he had truly cared for her. Unfortunately, she was mortal and he was a god or at least would be again. And he couldn’t divorce his wife. For one gods couldn’t get them, it had to do with the bond being unbreakable, and of course if he tried he would never hear the end of it from Hera. She would bitch at him till the end of time and for gods that was literal, not figurative. But maybe when this was all over he would be able to contact the girl again... Maybe have a new mistress.
